How to turn your old hall light into an industrial farmhouse light fixture

I consider my home style to be industrial farmhouse so in efforts to mimic the style I love I updated our hall light fixture. It looked fine before but was fairly plain and didn’t go with the industrial farmhouse theme I wanted. So here’s what I did and it cost me $0.00!!

Below is a picture of our original hallway light fixture and after I taped it off with black trash bags and blue painters tape.

I spray painted the fixture with hammered bronze spray paint by rustoleum(pictured below on left) , before I had spray painted I had put cotton balls in the socket to protect it from spray paint (pictured below on right)

This was an old fan cover I used the same rubbed bronze spray paint to paint this as well so it would match the rest of the fixture.

the very center of the fan cover had a removable piece that allowed me to attach it to the existing fixture.

  1. I am sooo impressed, Molly!! I don’t think we will be changing up the lights any time soon (we live in an apartment), but I definitely will keep this in mind for the future! Thanks for sharing!
